"He achieves his first real success with the Galerie Weil’s exhibition in 1960. Five years later, he settles in the United States and mainly in New York. The works of this period are mostly graphic and are characterized by his personal use of color. The subjects of his early works are the landscape, still life, horses often represented during the race, and circus scenes. The painters who influenced his work are not only Klee, Marini, Kandinsky and other European expressionists, but also conceptual artists like Beuys or Oppenheim. He also meets in his American period, the expressionists of the New York’s school with who he gradually makes friendship with them. The theme of the music is present in his art."
